With Westbury on Trim to its side, as well as Bishopston and Redland just below it; Henleaze is one of those regions that’s as well-connected as it is appealing to visit. Some people say that the area took its name from Mr Robert Henley – one of the first people to live in the region and the first purchaser of what is now known as Henley’s House, or Henleaze Park depending on your preference.
Is there much to do and see here?
Yes and no. Yes, if you enjoy shopping, activities, restaurants and landmarks. No, if you dislike everyone that you meet. There’s St Peter’s Parish, which is a large church in the southern part of the region, as well as other landmarks such as Henleaze Lake – which used to be a quarry and then experienced rapid flooding to form the lake that it has since become.
There’s also the Golden Hill Cricket Ground for fans of the sport, a swimming club, a variety of bakeries and supermarkets and the famous Orpheus cinema for those of you wanting to catch the latest flicks on the big screen. Personally we’d consider this region quite family-friendly, especially with the low crime rate and friendly locals, but it would also suit couples and those hoping to retire in peace and quiet.
So, are there any salons?
Yes there are – and yes they would be happy to treat you (from what we’ve seen). Some are frequently visited by the locals, while others are a little more luxurious and exclusive by nature. It won’t matter what your budget might be, as we’re sure that you’ll be able to find at least a few that could cater to you – but the best thing to do is take a look at our featured salons and decide for yourself.
We’re always here to help as well, just in case you find yourself in need of a little advice, so please feel free to get in touch with our friendly team and we’ll do what we can to point you in the right direction.
